This page explains what [Registered Business Name] ("Payger") stores about organisations and their members, why, and who processes it on our behalf.
What we store
- Your mobile number, which is your account. Sign-in uses a one-time code; we store no password.
- Your name and the details an organisation keeps about you, such as your flat or unit and any fields it asks you to fill.
- Your dues, recurring payments and any autopay on them, payments, refunds and complaints, so you and your organisation see the same ledger.
- For people who receive money through Payger: the bank account or UPI ID you give us for payouts, masked wherever it is shown.
- For organisations: the business and bank details and documents needed for the ID check (KYC).
- The devices you sign in from, so we can send notifications and let you sign out everywhere.
Why we use it
Only to run the service: to show dues, take and record payments, send reminders and receipts, verify organisations and payees, handle complaints, and meet our legal and regulatory duties. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Who processes it
Payments, bank and UPI checks and organisation verification are handled by Cashfree Payments, an RBI-authorised payment aggregator. SMS go through our messaging provider. Your UPI PIN, OTPs and card numbers are entered in your bank or UPI app and never reach Payger.
What other members see
Your organisation sees your dues and payments with it. Other members see you in the directory only if you turn on "Show me in the directory", which is off until you choose.
How long we keep it
We keep payment records for as long as the law requires.
If you close your account, we keep it for 6 months. Sign in with your number during that time and you recover it. While it is closing, you get no messages from us and no new dues are raised for you.
After 6 months we remove:
- your name, email and phone number
- the devices you signed in from
- your personal reminders and your notification settings
- your links to your organisations
What stays: your payments, dues, receipts and ledgers with each organisation, including the name and member ID the organisation keeps for you in its own records, as the law requires. After that, the phone number is free, and signing up with it starts a new account.
Your choices
You can see and correct your details in the app, change your directory setting, sign out of all devices, and close your account from Settings. For anything else, write to [privacy@payger.example — placeholder].
